Nothing Is Too Hard For God

Jeremiah 32:17 Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.

This declaration from Jeremiah came during an incredibly challenging time. Jerusalem was under siege by the Babylonians, and Jeremiah was imprisoned. It emphasizes God’s sovereignty, creative power, and unlimited capabilities.

God’s Creative Power

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Isaiah 40:28 Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.

Psalm 33:6-9 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,

And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He lays up the deep in storehouses.

Let all the earth fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.

Genesis 18:14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time, I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing will be impossible.

Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me? (God’s response to Jeremiah)

Job 42:2 I know that You can do everything,
And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Just as Jeremiah declared God’s unlimited power during Jerusalem’s siege and his imprisonment, we can apply this truth to challenges today:

When facing;

Health challenges that seem insurmountable

Financial pressures that appear overwhelming

Relationship conflicts that feel irreparable

Career obstacles that look impassable

Remember that nothing is too difficult for God. We are called to act in faith even when circumstances suggest otherwise.

When Jeremiah proclaimed these words, he wasn’t speaking from comfort but from a place of profound difficulty, imprisoned while his nation faced destruction. His acknowledgement of God’s creative power led to an unshakeable confidence. “Nothing is too hard for You.” This truth remains equally powerful today.

When we face situations that appear hopeless by our standards:

  1. Remember who God is – the Creator whose power formed the universe.
  2. Acknowledging that our limitations don’t restrict God’s capabilities.
  3. Acting in faith even when circumstances suggest caution.
  4. Trusting God’s sovereign plan even when we can’t see the outcome.

It does not mean that God will always remove our difficulties, but that no difficulty is beyond His power or outside His awareness. When we truly embrace this truth, we can face any circumstance with confident faith Jeremiah demonstrated – believing that the God who created everything with His “great power and outstretched arm” can work in and through any situation for His glory and our ultimate good.
