Be A Star

Be A Star

Da 12:3Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

In these last days, while the world is getting darker and darker, we believers in Jesus Christ ought to live with eternity in view. We should seek to excel in our faith and practice to please our master, Jesus, as we serve in His end-time program. Each of us should seek to shine as a star for Jesus. Be a star.

A star  is a servant hearted ,teachable, accountable and responsible believer.  In order to be a star you will therefore need to be :-

1.Servant hearted- just like our Lord Jesus , “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Mr 10:45).

This calls for humility and availability to receive training counsel and correction from other believers and leaders God has set over you in the spiritual realm. It means also that you will have a heart for the word of God. “and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” (2Ti 3:15) and you will “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” (2Ti 2:15)

2.Accountable to the Lord and to other believers. Do not be the kind that says I don’t care what others think. Be careful. What your fellow believers bind on earth is bound in heaven. Be like Paul  “For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men.” (2 C0r.8:21)

3.Be Responsible, so that the Lord and the church can count on you. Be like Barnabas who the scripture says “He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.Ac 11:24. Endeavour to be a hard working and fruitful Christian.

Jesus said that “Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.”  (Mt 13:43)  Be sure you are one of them. As spurgeon said “May every one of us labor to be of that brilliant company.”

For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  (2 Pe 1:8)  There are four essential elements of the Christian life. Each of us should seek to excel in these four areas for a healthy balanced Christian life. They are:

  1. Fellowship with God
  • Divine encounter with in the miracle of salvation, and the subsequent baptism in the Holy Spirit.
  • Daily encounters with God in a daily devotional life, that involves, meditation, prayer and  systematic bible study.
  1. Fellowship with other believers
  • In worship
  • In prayer
  • In ministry
  • In missions
  1. Witness to the world
  • By your conduct
  • By your testimony
  • Zeal to get others saved
  1. Responsible stewardship of the resources God has placed under our care
  • Talents
  • Material resources
